From the ever-famous stretch of
the Strip to the patio dining area of the Tacos Gordo, it is not so hard to
imagine why the city of Las Vegas constantly lures Americans inside its
colorful front yard. Who wouldn’t anyway? The place is teeming with luxury homes, interesting places to visit, and
its ever-playful nightlife.
Las
Vegas currently holds a record of 20, 000 new homeowners moving inside the
city. Though not as numerous as other U.S. cities like Florida and New York,
the moving rate in Las Vegas is constantly climbing every year. In a record
released in 2011, more than 28, 000 licenses were surrendered to Clark County
by out-of-state drivers in exchange for a Nevada license version. This was a
definitive increase of 21.7% as compared to the last year’s record.
The
record turned out to be a surprise after the country suffered an economics blow
on the said year. It is minor setback as one of the country’s fastest-growing
metropolitan city in the South.
“The overall
mover rate for the nation has increased since a record low,” says Alison
Fields, chief of the Census Bureau’s Journey-to-Work and Migration Statistics
Branch. “However, compared to previous years, mobility is still low for even
our most mobile age group (18 to 29 year olds).”
